Why we run these

The Essence of Ghana exists to educate, excite and empower travelers to experience the culture, the lifestyle and the people of Ghana, and to take the worry out of planning it.

It started with one visit. As co-founder Jamie puts it: "My visit to Ghana was so amazing that I decided to start a business there! My teammates and all of the people of Ghana truly made me feel at home."

The other half of it is the team on the ground: guides, drivers and partners in Ghana with steady work that uses what they actually know. ReKente came out of the same idea, one maker at a time.

The Essence of Ghana

Trips are run by The Essence of Ghana, based in Orlando, Florida. ReKente is its shoe line.

"Your guidance, care, and dedication have truly made this experience unforgettable for all of us. You went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and taken care of."
